Baby Steps in the Right Direction

Just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and love. After a week full of ups and downs things are very stable and Ethan is happy today. Yesterday was a very scary day. He finally got the new chest tube, but it took a near life threatening emergency to happen before he did. The "event" as we call it taught me to appreciate each day even if it is not the progress I want to see. I must also say how thankful I am for the promptings of the spirit, prayers, and a very supportive and positive husband. Because of those Ethan is bright eyed, happy, and even a little pink today. We are hoping for a quiet weekend with continued baby steps in the right direction.
Much love-Heidi

I am so sorry for the stressful emergent situation Ethan went through. I am glad you have an amazing husband to support you. Can't wait to get down there again and see the little guy wiggle his pink toes.

I hated when things took turns for the worst, where you stand there helpless and your heart drops into your stomach and all you can think is not my baby. I close my eyes and I can still see the rush of the teams of doctors and nurses into the rooms, the sounds, the phone calls, all the while you stand there helpless listening to everything they are saying to everyone else.
I will pray with you and everyone else that Ethan has a calm weekend and starts making progress towards that place that starts with the letter "H".
I am always suprised how our father will humbly remind us how this is in his hands and we need to trust him. One day at a time, it may seem slow, but he has taught me not to look past today, focus on this and when it ends, I whisper, "Thank you Lord for another day." before I close my eyes.

Once again Give Ethan Kisses for us.

Sending you heart hugs and blessings.

SO scary Heidi! He's in the right place and in the best hands. I'm sorry he's not at the place that rhyms with rome! BUT, he's still here and that says a lot!
